Window Insulation Film

Guardian Window Film have been installing window insulation film & low emissivity film in commercial and residential buildings throughout the UK for over 20 years. We have Constructionline, Safe Contractor, and Builder’s Profile accreditation.

What is Insulation Window Film?

Our Insulation film (also known as low emission window film) will reject unwanted external solar heat gain in warm weather and capture and retain internal heat in cold weather.

Benefits include:
-Solar control properties
-UV protection
-Temperature management
-Energy savings
-Reduced environmental CO2 footprint
-Highly transparent
-Targets excess sunlight and glare
-Can be applied in retail spaces, office buildings, commercial properties and in residential homes

Solar Control Features

Window insulation film has solar control properties which allow it to work around the clock and manage the temperature in your building, whatever the weather or external conditions. This ensures you get the same benefits of double glazing with reduced costs on energy bills.

More Energy Savings

Heat loss or gain is a common energy efficiency problem in buildings with poor glazing. Choosing window film insulation means that you no longer need to run your air conditioning or heating system as often.

The insulation film works by reducing the heat entering or exiting the building through your windows. Its combined effect enables you to reduce your energy costs and environmental footprint.

Optical Clarity

Low-E films are typically reflective, changing the appearance of glass and reducing the amount of natural light passing through the windows. Guardian supply and install clear window insulation film with high levels of transparency.

UV Protection

All our insulation window film products protect you and your property against damaging ultraviolet rays thanks to its UV filtering features. Furniture, floors and carpeting commonly degrade due to high intakes of UV rays. Insulating film acts like a barrier, preventing your building or goods from devaluing.

Easy to Install

Our expert team will apply the film to the inside of your windows without disruption. Whether you need insulation control window film for your office building or your home, we have a dedicated team of experts who can advise you on the best solution to suit your needs.

PAYBACK PERIOD

The payback period for your window film investment could be as little as 3 years. The film will typically continue to deliver savings for at least 12 years. That’s some investment!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Window insulation film works by reducing heat gain/loss in your premises, as well as the amount of UV rays penetrating the windows.  Insulation technology helps retain the heat and keep you warmer in the winter whilst reflecting technology helps block the sun’s heat and keeps you cooler in summer months. Some insulating films can cut down the heat transfer by up to 35% and block up to 70% of solar heat gain.

Insulation window film can help interior condensation when applied on the inside of your window panes. A common problem in both households and commercial buildings with poor ventilation or glazing, condensation occurs when hot and humid air comes into contact with a cold surface.

In the long run, this can cause mould around the edges of your windows and even on your furniture. Installing window insulation film will help to keep the temperature inside your property at a higher level.

Yes, insulation film can be removed by use of a wide industrial glass scraper.

Once your insulating film has been installed, we recommend waiting 30 days before cleaning it. This will allow the window film plenty of time to cure and adhere to your windows. You can then clean your windows with a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive tools like brushes and ammonia-based solutions as they can cause scratches.
